Recipe: Matcha Cake

Since my husband bought me a stand mixer by KitchenAid I actually bake on a regular basis. I love to try out new recipes and today I would like to introduce you the recipe for a Matcha cake. You should definitely try it, it’s so good!


4 eggs in size M

250 g melted butter

250 g sugar

1 package vanilla sugar

1 grated peel of a lemon

A pinch of salt

4 tablespoons of milk

150 g flour

150 g cornstarch

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 tablespoon of matcha powder



First, pre-heat the oven to 150 degrees, brush the baking pan with butter and then dust it with flour. Then separate the eggs and beat the egg white until stiff and add half of the sugar.

Then beat the butter, the rest of the sugar, the vanilla sugar, the lemon peel and the salt. Mix the egg yolk and the milk. Pour the egg whites under the butter-sugar mass. Mix the matcha powder, the flour, the corn starch and the baking powder and stir briefly.

Pour the dough into the baking pan and bake the cake for approx. 45 min.
