Recipe: Palitaw

My mother comes from the Philippines as some of you know. And because of her I am also used to the Filipino cuisine. I do not eat every Filipino dish but most of the desserts they have are really tasty.

So today I want to share one of my favorite Filipino dessert recipe: Palitaw.

Ingredients

2 cups rice flour
1 cup water
½ cup roasted sesame seeds
1 cup grated coconut
5 spoons sugar

Instruction

First, mix the rice flour with water until a dough is formed. Then take about 1 spoon of dough, mold it into a little round ball and flatten it. Boil water in a pot and put the flat dough into it. While the dough cooks, roast the sesame seeds in a pan and add the grated coconut and sugar.

As soon as the dough starts to float to the surface, take out the dough and let it drain well. Then roll the cooked palitaw on the the mixture of sesame seeds and grated coconut. That’s it! Enjoy the yummy dessert!
