I actually made these beautiful and yummy apple roses several days ago. They are easy to bake and look very pretty!
2-3 red apples
1/2 lemon juice
1x puff pastry sheet
Muffin cups (silicone work better)
First, wash the apples, remove the seeds and cut them into thin slices.
Right after that, place the apple slices for about 5 min. in boiling water with lemon juice, so that they won’t change color. Then preheat the oven to 180° C.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon and cut the puff pastry into strips. As soon as the apple slices are easy to bend, they can be placed to cool and drain on paper towels.
Now slightly place the apple slices on the pastry stripes by overlapping them a little and then add the sugar-cinnamon mixture and a little bit of jam.
Fold up the bottom part of the dough and roll the strip tightly from one end to the other and place it into the muffin cup. Do this for all your roses and then bake them at 180 degrees for about 30-40 min.
Once the apple roses are slightly cooled, they can be taken out and can be sprinkled with some powder sugar.
Have fun baking and bon appétit!
Extra tip: I also make a few roses with bananas and Nutella and they also taste wonderful!
